HEROINES IN THE STORM

Explore the untold stories of women's contributions and experiences during World War II. Heroines in the Storm is inspired by the Sherry Pringle Book, Extraordinary Women Extraordinary Times.

Episodes

Episode One: The Secret War

The Secret War explores the world of espionage, code breaking, secret agents, and the women who inhabited that murky world. 

Episode Two: Marching to War

Marching to War explores the the life of women who signed up for military command. These women faced a military command that didn't necessarily want them, while risking alienating their families who didn't always want them to sign up.

Episode Three: The Horror of War

The Horror of War explores the terrors women witnessed in Europe and Asia as the Japanese and Hitler's NAZI regime unleashed a campaign of hate and mass destruction. 

Episode Four: The War at Home

The War at Home ends the series by looking at how women made contributions and sacrifices to keep the home fires burning.

Heroines in the Storm is going on the road. As part of our project mandate we are scheduling public engagement screenings. These screenings include episodes that have English and French subtitles. Each screening comes with an in-person Q&A session with the documentary director.
